3k Carbon Kevlar Fabric
3k Carbon Kevlar Fabric is a high-performance hybrid reinforcement that combines 3,000-filament carbon fiber with 1000-denier aramid (Kevlar) fiber in a balanced 2×2 twill weave. The 3k carbon tow delivers excellent tensile strength (3500–4200 MPa) and modulus (225–240 GPa), while the 1000d Kevlar provides outstanding impact resistance, toughness, and abrasion protection. The twill weave offers superior drape and a distinctive diagonal pattern that highlights the hybrid contrast. This fabric is the preferred choice for aerospace, automotive, marine, and protection applications where both structural performance and damage tolerance are required. Available in areal weights from 200 to 400 g/m² with standard roll widths of 1000 mm and 1270 mm.

Frequently Asked Questions
3k carbon provides an excellent balance of mechanical performance, fine weave definition, and handling characteristics. It offers high tensile strength and modulus while maintaining a fine enough tow size for cosmetic applications and good drape.
1000d Kevlar is a standard denier size that provides excellent balance of strength, toughness, and handling. It is widely used in hybrid fabrics and offers good abrasion resistance and impact protection. Other deniers (400d, 1500d) affect the fabric weight and weave definition.
Yes. Epoxy resin systems provide excellent adhesion to both carbon and Kevlar fibers. For impact-critical applications, use a toughened epoxy to maximize the hybrid benefit and improve damage tolerance.
Yes. The twill weave provides good permeability for vacuum infusion. Recommended resin viscosity: 80–250 cP. Use flow media for panels larger than 1 m². The hybrid nature may require slightly higher injection pressure for complete wet-out.
