Dry Carbon Fiber Fabric is un-impregnated woven reinforcement that allows complete flexibility in composite manufacturing. Without pre-applied resin, you have full control over resin system selection, processing method, fiber volume fraction, and cure cycle. This versatility makes dry fabric suitable for a wide range of applications — from hand layup and vacuum infusion to resin transfer molding and pultrusion. Available in all standard weaves (plain, twill, satin) and tow sizes (3k, 6k, 12k), with areal weights from 160 to 800 g/m². The fabric is supplied with a compatible sizing that promotes excellent resin wet-out while maintaining good handling characteristics.

Frequently Asked Questions

Dry fabric has no resin — you apply resin during processing. Prepreg fabric comes pre-impregnated with resin and requires controlled storage and handling. Dry fabric offers greater flexibility and longer shelf life at ambient conditions.

Consider your mechanical requirements, cure temperature, processing method, and environmental conditions. Epoxy offers the best mechanical properties, polyester is cost-effective, vinyl ester provides corrosion resistance, and phenolic is suitable for fire-retardant applications.

With hand layup: 40% – 50%. With vacuum bagging: 50% – 55%. With compression molding or RTM: 55% – 60%. Your choice of processing method determines the achievable fiber volume fraction.

Store in the original packaging at 15–28°C and ≤ 60% relative humidity. Keep away from direct sunlight, UV light, and ozone sources. No refrigeration is required. Shelf life is 18 months from the date of manufacture.
