Yellow/black I-beam Aramid Carbon Blend

Yellow/black I texturedaramid carbon fiber woven fabric is interlaced with yellow aramid fiber and black carbon fiber, combining the characteristics of both materials. Aramid fiber has tensile strength, impact resistance and cut resistance, while carbon fiber is known for its high strength, high modulus and lightweight. The hybrid design enhances the fabric's fatigue resistance and crack resistance. They are suitable for wide application in aerospace, automotive, sporting goods, industrial protection and other fields.

Weave Architecture
The I-beam pattern features alternating yellow aramid and black carbon yarns arranged in a structural reinforcement geometry. This configuration provides directional stiffness enhancement while maintaining the impact resistance of aramid fibers. The geometric pattern remains visible after lamination.
Product Overview

I-beam patterned hybrid fabric combining yellow para-aramid (Kevlar-type) fibers with black carbon fiber in a specialized weave architecture that creates a distinctive geometric visual effect. The I-beam reinforcement pattern provides directional stiffness enhancement along the warp direction while maintaining the impact resistance of aramid. Available in 200-350 gsm areal weight with standard widths of 100-1,500 mm. The yellow aramid offers tensile strength of 2,800-3,200 MPa with elongation of 2.5-3.5 percent, while the black carbon delivers modulus of 230-240 GPa. This hybrid construction is suited for applications requiring both aesthetic distinction and mechanical performance.

Core Advantages
I-beam reinforcement
Directional stiffness enhancement along warp direction providing structural rigidity where required.
Aramid impact resistance
Energy absorption of 40-60 J/m² protecting against impact damage and catastrophic failure.
Carbon stiffness
Tensile modulus of 230-240 GPa ensuring dimensional stability and load-bearing capacity.
Visual distinction
Yellow and black contrast creates high-visibility geometric pattern for visible composite applications.

Frequently Asked Questions
+ I-beam pattern orientation and performance
The I-beam pattern provides directional stiffness enhancement along the warp direction. For applications requiring multi-directional reinforcement, the fabric can be combined with 0/90 degree layups or used as a surface layer over structural core materials.
+ Color stability of yellow aramid
The yellow aramid fibers are solution-dyed, providing color retention under UV exposure. After 500 hours QUV testing, color change Delta E is below 2.5. For outdoor applications, a UV-resistant clear coat is recommended to extend color life.
+ Resin compatibility and processing
Compatible with epoxy, vinyl ester, and polyester resin systems. The aramid component requires adequate wet-out due to lower surface energy. Vacuum-assisted resin infusion is recommended for optimal fiber-matrix adhesion.
Handling & Storage
Cutting: Use diamond-coated or carbide blades. Aramid fibers are highly abrasive and will wear standard steel tools rapidly.
Layup: Apply uniform compaction pressure. The I-beam pattern requires consistent resin distribution to maintain visual clarity.
Storage: Store in moisture-proof packaging at 5-25°C, RH below 50 percent. Shelf life: 18 months.
