240gsm Carbon Fiber Woven Fabric
Optimized for applications requiring enhanced thickness and superior surface finish — 240 grams per square meter delivers increased stiffness and a smooth satin weave appearance.
4HS Satin Architecture
240gsm Carbon Fiber Woven Fabric offers increased areal weight for applications requiring greater thickness, stiffness, and structural performance per ply. This fabric is typically woven in a 4-harness satin (4HS) pattern, providing excellent drape and a smooth surface finish. The heavier weight reduces the number of plies required to achieve target laminate thickness, accelerating layup times and reducing labor costs. Available in 3k tow size with 4HS satin as the standard weave, and also available in plain and twill configurations. The 240gsm weight is ideal for automotive body panels, marine components, sporting goods, and applications where a premium cosmetic finish is required.
Reduced Layup Time
Fewer plies needed to achieve target thickness — reduces production time and labor costs by up to 30% compared to 200gsm.
Superior Surface Finish
4HS satin weave provides an exceptionally smooth surface that accepts clear coats flawlessly — ideal for visible carbon applications.
Increased Stiffness
Heavier weight delivers higher stiffness per ply, enabling thinner laminates with equivalent mechanical performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
240gsm provides approximately 30% more thickness and stiffness per ply, reducing the number of layers needed for structural laminates. It also offers a smoother surface finish due to the 4HS satin weave, making it ideal for cosmetic applications.
4HS satin weave provides excellent drape and a smooth surface finish, which complements the heavier weight. The satin pattern reduces crimp, maintaining good mechanical properties while improving aesthetics.
Yes. 240gsm is suitable for vacuum infusion. The satin weave provides good permeability, and the weight allows efficient resin flow. Recommended resin viscosity: 80–300 cP at injection temperature.
With vacuum bagging, cured ply thickness is approximately 0.34 mm for 4HS satin. With compression molding or autoclave, thickness reduces to approximately 0.30 mm at higher fiber volume fractions.
